Just a mile to the east of Junction 45 of the A1(M) is the beautiful Georgian village of Boston Spa. It is situated midway between Harrogate, York and Leeds on the south side of the steep, tree-lined banks of the River Wharfe. It was established as a Spa Town in 1744 by John Spires when he discovered Magnesium, Limestone and Sulphur springs.
A relatively large village centre boasts a cluster of quality, independent retailers. The Barefoot Gallery is no exception. Established in 2008 by interior designer Linda Schulz who personally chooses the collections. Specialising in Original Art, it is host to carefully selected British and European artists, both established and emerging, who are chosen for their outstanding talent, resulting in a collection of exciting Contemporary Paintings.
Also on display is a stunning collection of unique, Hand Blown Glass together with a selection of Bronze Sculpture and Ceramics. The gallery strives to continue discovering and representing exceptional new artists in all areas of expertise.
