Born in Carlisle in 1964 Colin studied at Cumbria College of Art & Design before receiving a BA (Honours) in fine art from Exeter University. He moved to London and established his career for twelve years, moving on to Derbyshire with his family in 2005.

Inspired by his surrounding countryside Colin is able to produce paintings based on actual places, landscapes that bring out his true intuitive sense of style and colour. His paintings are highly emotive and often dramatic.

Colin has appeared on the front cover and featured within the July 2008 issue of Art Of England Magazine. Collectors include Helen Mirren and he has received commissions from Macmillan Trust, Earl of Scarborough and the Cancer Unit, Rotherham NHS.
